Colors of the Year for 2018

It is the time of year where a million year-in-reviews are appearing, but why look to the past when we can look to the future? Painting trends and color favorites are starting to emerge as we begin putting the roller to the wall on our first projects of 2018. Take a look at some of the painting picks for Color of the Year 2018.

Benjamin Moore

Just when you think we have done away with the bright, bold colors, Benjamin Moore makes us think twice by choosing red as their color of the year. Caliente AF-290 is bold and will surely make a powerful statement wherever it is used. Consider using it as an accent color or for something like a dramatic statement on your front door. Strong colors like this can be even more striking with a glossy sheen. Imagine that front door in a high gloss finish. Wow!

Sherwin Williams

Sherwin Williams has chosen Oceanside SW 6496 as their color for 2018. It’s blue-green mixture is irresistible and it, too, will make a sensational statement. As a Marine-inspired color, Oceanside would make a great backdrop for a home office or a Master bedroom. Sherwin Williams suggests pairing the 2018 color with copper metallic tones. Did you know blues are interpreted as intelligent, honest and interesting?

Behr

Trying to pick a color that helps blend two styles? Or creates a style all your own? Then this is the color for you! Behr describe it’s color of the year, In The Moment T18-15, as cool and tranquil. In the Moment has ‘nature-inspired beauty’ and is suggested for both interior and exterior projects. Maybe having this color around the house will encourage all of us to be a little more ‘in the moment’!

PPG

Many people say you can’t go wrong with black and it appears PPG agrees based on their latest pick- Black Frame PPG1043-7. From windows to walls, blacks are still very popular and can add just the right amount of sophistication to any space. The classic blend of black and indigo bring this color to life. Blacks are versatile and can be used as a feature wall or even for kitchen and bath cabinets. The dramatic essence of this color can be adjusted by the sheen you choose to use.

Go bold, go tranquil, go versatile, or go dramatic. Most importantly, go you!
